Description

This is a pair of houses located on the south side of High Street, Nettlebed. They date from the early 18th century, with likely alterations in the 19th century. The houses are constructed of grey brick with red brick detailing, and have a slate roof, with a rendered brick ridge stack. The building is two storeys high and has a four-window front. A double door is located to the left of centre, with an overlight and a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. A 20th-century sash door is on the right, also featuring a flat hood on brackets. Canted bay windows with sashes are positioned on both the left and right sides. There’s a two-light casement window to the right of the right-hand door. The first floor has three 12-pane sash windows with thick glazing bars, and a blind panel located to the left of centre. The roof is hipped to the left, and the ridge stack is situated to the left of centre. The left return side has a four-window range, including a likely 19th-century shop window on the ground floor. The interior was not inspected.
