Description

This milestone, dating from the late 18th century, is located on the east side of the A340 in Theale. It is made of white painted stone and features black lettering along with a chamfered top. The milestone has a square base and is inscribed with directions: the north side reads "TO BASINGSTOKE 14", the south side states "TO WALLINGFORD 12", and the base has "TO OXFORD ?" inscribed on it.
