Description
The Old Rectory is a rectory dated 1830, as indicated on the rainwater heads. It is constructed of Bath stone ashlar and features a hipped slate roof, with a square plan and two storeys.
The west front has a plinth, plat band, cornice, parapet, and four chimney stacks. It consists of five bays, with the central three bays slightly projecting. The windows are glazing bar sashes, and there is a central six-panelled door, with the bottom two panels flush, topped by a rectangular radial fanlight. The stone doorcase is adorned with unfluted Doric columns that support a triglyph frieze and a triangular pediment.
On the south front, there is a triangular pediment above the central three slightly projecting bays, which includes a circular panel in the tympanum. This elevation also has five bays, with a two-bay projecting rectangular bay window to the right, featuring a cornice and parapet.
The east front also has five bays, with a central half-glazed door and an overlight.
Inside, the rectory retains a quiet early 19th-century interior, characterized by fret ornament on the architraves.
