Description
Bryar Cottage is a building that combines two homes into one, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The right side features a timber frame with red brick nogging, while the ground floor is finished in white painted brick. The cottage has a thatched roof, which is half hipped to the left and includes some old tiling in the central valley. It has an L-shaped plan with a two-bayed gabled cross wing on the right. The left side is one and a half storeys high, while the right side has two storeys and an attic.
On the left, there is a gabled eaves dormer with a two-light 20th-century casement window, and a small 20th-century attic casement window in the gable end to the right. The roof features an off-centre ridge stack to the right. The first floor on the right has a three-light 20th-century casement window, while the ground floor has two two-light 20th-century casement windows on the left and one three-light 20th-century casement window on the right. A 20th-century boarded door with a glazed panel is located between the first and second windows from the left, accompanied by a 20th-century porch.
