Description
This estate lodge, located about 400 metres east-north-east of Herons Farm, was built in 1885 by Alfred Waterhouse. It is constructed of red brick featuring a band of raised brick diapering and corbelled gables with toothed verges. The roof is plain tile with gabled ends, and there is a brick axial stack at the centre topped with a corbelled brick cap. The building has a cruciform plan, including a porch and outshut in the angles.
The lodge is two storeys high with asymmetrical elevations. The gable ends of the wings display patterned brickwork and have 2 and 3-light casement windows with glazing bars in the top lights, set within segmental arched openings. A wooden lean-to porch is situated in the angle, supported by a timber post with an arch. The interior has not been inspected.
