Description

A row of three cottages dating from the late 18th century. They are built of flint with brick dressings and lacing courses, and have an old tile roof. The roof is hipped to the left with a catslide over a projecting section, and has an end stack to the right and a ridge stack slightly left of centre. There are two gabled dormers on the right with two-light casement windows, and two gabled eaves dormers on the left – the left one with a two-light casement, and the right one with a 20th-century casement. The front has two 20th-century casement windows to the right, and three two-light casements to the left, two of which have segmental heads. A small 20th-century casement is set in a lean-to on the left. There are three doors, each with a 20th-century timber-framed gabled porch; the central one has a boarded, glazed panel and a gabled lattice porch. A 20th-century, single-storey hipped addition is set back on the right. The interior has not been inspected. The cottages are designated at Grade II for their survival as a good example of a late 18th-century vernacular terrace, and because of their group value with other listed cottages on Pangbourne Road.
