Description

Thane Cottage is a 17th-century house with 20th-century additions to the rear. It is timber-framed, with rendered external walls, and has an old tile roof with a half-hipped shape and a catslide (low-sloping) section over an outshot to the rear. The house has two framed bays and two storeys. A central chimney stack rises from the ridge of the roof. The south front features two first-floor windows with two lights each, and two ground-floor casement windows. One ground-floor window, on the left side, has a segmental head. The central entrance is a half-glazed boarded door, protected by a 20th-century gabled porch constructed of weatherboard.
