Description

Ayres House, also known as the BT and G Winston premises, is an 18th-century building that has been altered. It is constructed of red brick and features a machine tile roof with a modillion eaves cornice. The building has two storeys, with the first floor displaying four sash windows. The ground floor includes a projecting late 19th-century bay shop window, which has a roof that extends to create a porch over the shop entrance. Below this porch is a house entrance, which is sheltered by a timber hood supported on brackets, along with one sash window. There is a rendered lean-to at the west end and a rear wing, which is likely timber-framed.
