Description
12 Temple Square is an 18th-century building of two storeys and an attic, with a basement. It is constructed of vitreous brick with red brick dressings, laid in a header bond pattern. The building has a moulded plinth and a heavy moulded brick eaves cornice, topped by an old tile roof. At the rear, the roof is double gabled and reveals timber framing of an earlier date. Originally featuring four windows on the first floor, it now has three; the window on the right-hand side has been blocked. The ground floor has a six-panel door with a two-pane fanlight, set within a surround of pilasters, moulded console brackets, and a flat hood. A modern shop window is located to the right of the door. The interior contains some panelling. There is the possibility of earlier, 17th-century elements within the building. The building forms a group of listed buildings in Temple Square.
