Description
Park House and Ye Olde George Public House is a building from the 17th century that was refronted around 1800. It is constructed of colour-washed brick and features an old tile roof behind a parapet with a corbelled moulded cornice. The building has two storeys and consists of seven bays, with the central bay being advanced and pedimented. The pediment contains a blank circle, and the ground floor of the pedimented bay includes a carriageway and quoined details. There are two string courses, with the lower one continuing beneath the cills of the first-floor windows.
On the first floor, above the entrance, there is a semicircular window, and the first floor has two 1:3:1 sashes with a central blocked-in narrower window. The ground floor features shop windows. The Old George section has a first floor similar to Park House but with the central window unblocked. The ground floor includes two doors with small sashes on either side and a pair of sashes. Additionally, there is a two-storey brick and timber rear wing attached to Park House.
