Description
387 and 389 Old Commercial Road are two houses built around 1800. They are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and feature a plain tile hipped roof with brick stacks on both the left and right sides. Each house has a flush panelled door on the right, which is accessed by four stone steps with attached timber baluster rails. The doors are framed by flanking fluted pilaster door cases and topped with a moulded pediment.
House number 387 has a 12-pane sash window set beneath a gauged brick flat arch on the left side. House number 389 features a shallow tripartite bow that rises two storeys, with a central 12-pane sash and 8-pane flanking sashes, separated by panelled pilasters, and includes a frieze and cornice. The first floor of number 387 has a 12-pane sash window, while the second floor has a 9-pane unequal sash. House number 389 has 12-pane sash windows on both the first and second floors. The interior has not been inspected.
