Description
The building is a chapel, later used as a college annexe and now a studio, dating from circa 1885. Foundation stones indicate construction began on 8th October 1884. It is built of red brick in English bond, with stone dressings and a Welsh slate roof.
The main structure is two storeys high with one wide bay. Projecting single-storey bays are located on the left and right returns, featuring four stone steps leading to diagonal boarded doors set under stone lintels. These are flanked by a stone-coped brick wall and end piers. The front facade has a tripartite stone mullioned window with paired lights, stone sills, and a brick pointed arch with a pointed dripstone tympanum featuring carved stone foliage. The projecting bays have stone corner pinnacles and a stone crenellated parapet. The first floor has three-light casements set in a stone surround with two brick mullions, stone cusped heads all recessed within a three-centred brick arch with a panelled carved stone tympanum, trefoil head, and keystones. A bellcote is situated at the apex of a sloping stone parapet. The flanking bays, formerly aisles, each contain two-light casements set under a pointed brick arch with a stone springer, sill, and dripstone. A low buttress highlights the outer quoins, and a sloping stone parapet completes the exterior.
The interior of the building was not inspected for listing purposes.
Attached to the main building are a stone-coped brick boundary wall and entrance piers.
