Description

Cairn Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has been altered over time. It is timber framed with colourwashed plaster infill and features a thatched roof that is half hipped to the west. The cottage has one storey and an attic, with the main part consisting of two bays. There are two upper casements that are cut up into the thatch, along with two modern casements on the ground floor. There are doors on each side of the cottage, with the right-hand door leading into a one-storey tiled extension, and a similar smaller extension on the left-hand side. Inside, the first floor has heavily beamed ceilings and exposed timber framing in the walls.
