Description
Appletree Cottage is a 17th-century house that has been altered over time. It features a combination of part timber framing with colourwashed brick infilling and sections that are entirely colourwashed brick. The roof is covered with old tiles and has one old brick chimney at the eastern end of the higher, hipped roof section on the western part of the building. The cottage is two storeys tall, with an attic in the western section, which has vertical timber framing above the brick ground floor. The ground floor includes a bay with two-light casement windows that are leaded. The eastern part of the cottage is lower and has two upper casement windows (one with three lights and another with one light), a door and window to the left of the ground floor, and a bay window to the right, all featuring modern leaded glazing.
