Description

29, 30, and 31 New Road is a terrace of three houses built around 1840. The houses are constructed of Flemish bond gault brick with plaster dressings and feature a slate roof. Each house has three storeys and two bays. The ground floor has one arched sash window, while the upper floors have two 12-pane sash windows on both the first and second floors, all with glazing bars. Each window is adorned with keystone plaster arches. The houses have projecting porches supported by Tuscan Doric columns, with column and antae pilasters, cornices, and flat roofs. The doors are three-panel designs, with the upper two panels glazed for Nos 30 and 31, while No 29 has a hardwood door from around 1980. A cement stringcourse runs along the base, and there is coping to the parapet. Each party wall features two chimney stacks.
