Description

This is an early 19th-century house located on New Road in Chatham. It is a double-depth house with three storeys and a basement. The house is built of brick with stone dressings, painted brick stacks on the rear lateral side, and a mansard roof covered in tiles. The front faces a raised ground floor over a rendered basement. A flat-arched doorway on the left-hand side provides access, with steps leading up to a 20th-century door and rectangular overlight. A three-light, two-storey canted bay window features a central 6/6-pane sash window and outer 4/4-pane sash windows. The second floor is raised, with a coped parapet and a 6/6-pane sash window. The interior of the house has not been inspected. Attached to the front are iron step railings. The property is included on the list for its group value as part of a varied terrace of early 19th-century houses.
