Description
No. 60 New Road is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of painted Flemish bond brick with stone dressings, featuring two rear lateral stacks and a tiled roof. The building has a two-room layout with a lower parallel rear service range.
The exterior is two storeys high with a basement and has a symmetrical front with three windows. There are steps leading up to a central doorway that is framed with an architrave and features a six-panel door with glazed top panels. Flanking the doorway are canted three-light bays, all beneath a full-width moulded timber cornice. The first floor has two-over-two pane sash windows with cambered heads, while the basement contains small flat-arched windows.
The interior has not been inspected. This house is included in the listing for its group value as part of a varied terrace of early 19th-century houses.
