Description

No. 171 Eastgate is a former house that has been converted into a shop, dating from around 1800. The building is constructed of whitewashed brick and features a hipped roof covered with Welsh slate. It stands three storeys tall and has a single-window range. A wooden eaves cornice adds to its architectural detail. The second-floor window has a 9-pane hornless sash set within reveals, while the first-floor window has a late 20th-century replacement that is centre hung, both windows are positioned under flat arches. The shop window is also a late 20th-century addition. This building is included for its group value with other nearby structures.
