Description

No. 185 is a house dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick with a Flemish bond pattern on a rendered plinth, topped by a hipped old tiled roof. The building has two storeys and features four windows, which are 20th-century sashes. On the ground floor, to the left, there is a cambered opening with wooden slats, likely indicating that it was originally a butcher's premises. There is also a later 19th-century shopfront with two brackets. The early 19th-century doorcase is adorned with a pediment and brackets, and it has an eight-panelled door. Above the doorcase is a blank space that contains a Sun fire plaque with the number 326276.
