Description
No. 14 Market Place is a house dating from the early 18th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of colourwashed red brick, with some limestone rubble, and features a slate roof with wooden eaves and gable stacks.
The building has three storeys and a three-bay front, with a band at the first floor. The ground floor shows the outline of a shop front that is no longer present. The central doorway is adorned with a bracketed pediment, a reeded doorcase, a plain fanlight, and a panelled door. On either side of the doorway are single 20th-century cross mullion casements, with two similar casements above, all featuring brick wedge lintels and raised ashlar keystones. There are two additional 20th-century casements above. This building is included for its group value only.
