Description

No. 70 High Street is a house dating from around 1800, with some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of red brick with painted ashlar dressings and features a pantile roof with stone-coped gables, moulded wooden eaves, and gable stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, presenting a three-bay front that includes a first-floor band and quoins.

The central doorway has a segmental head and a plain doorcase, complete with an overlight and a serpentine lintel that has a raised keystone, leading to a panelled door. On either side of the doorway are long 20th-century cross mullion casements, while above are three glazing bar sashes, all featuring serpentine lintels with raised keystones. The roof is adorned with three raking dormer windows, each fitted with glazing bar sashes.
