Description
The Old Tannery, located to the rear of the Vintage Bazaar, is a tannery that has been converted into a workshop. It dates from the early 19th century to the 20th century and is constructed of red brick with a pantile roof featuring decorated eaves. The building is two storeys high and has a four-bay north front. On this front, there is a doorway to the right with a segmental head and a plank door. To the left, there is a blocked doorway with a segmental head, which has a two-light casement window inserted. Additionally, there is a large rectangular doorway to the left with a wooden lintel and double plank doors. Above this doorway, there are four large blocked rectangular openings with small, plain square windows inserted. The west gable end has two blocked rectangular openings, and the south front features four blocked rectangular openings above, also with small plain square windows inserted. The building has a rather fine kingpost roof. It is included in the register for its group value only.
