Description

The Old School House is a house with an attached cottage, dating back to the 17th century, which was remodelled in the early 19th century and has 20th-century additions. It is constructed of coursed and uncoursed limestone rubble, with some red brick detailing. The roof is tiled with pantiles, featuring red brick eaves, a single axial ridge stack, and a single ordinary ridge stack. The building has a lobby entrance on the front elevation. It is two storeys high, originally five bays wide, with a 20th-century lean-to addition to the left which contains a three-light casement window. The right-hand side of the front has a panelled door and a two-light 20th-century casement beyond it, with a narrow single-light 20th-century casement to the left. Above, there is a narrow 20th-century casement to the right, a two-light 20th-century casement beyond, and two further two-light 20th-century casements to the left. All the windows have wooden lintels.
