Description

This is a late 18th-century house with 20th-century alterations, located on the east side of Market Place in Folkingham. The house is constructed of red brick with painted ashlar dressings and has a pantile roof, featuring a stone-coped gable to the south with a gable stack. It is two storeys and an attic, with a three-bay front. The front features an ashlar plinth, a band at the first floor level, and quoins. The central doorway has a round head, a simple doorcase, a traceried fanlight, and a panelled door. Flanking the doorway are single four-light casement windows dated to the 20th century, each with a moulded cornice. Above these are three 20th-century cross-mullion casement windows with serpentine lintels and raised keystones. Two large 20th-century dormer windows with four-light casements are set into the roof. The building is included on the list primarily for its contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
