UNION STREET 1. 1577 (East Side) Nos 26 & 27 SZ 5992 2/350

II

  1. Circa 1830. Three storeys stucco faced. Double pitch gable end slate roof, concealed to front by cornice and parapet. Three windows. Second floor: recessed, sash, no glazing bars, block sills, centre one blind. First floor: outer windows, canted bays of three lights sash, no glazing bars, architrave moulding to frames, divided by fluted pilasters, frieze and moulded cornice over. Ground floor: No 26 has a good Victorian shop front with flanking panelled pilasters, capped brackets above flanking fascia. Central doorway, windows curving in of four arcaded lights each, with brass colonettes with moulded capitals and bases. The door is glazed and has a rectangular fanlight. No 27 has modern plate glass shop front.
