Description

No. 23 Union Street is a building dating from around the 1840s. It stands three storeys tall and is faced with stucco. The parapet features coping and a moulded cornice that conceals the roof, breaking forward over canted superimposed bay windows with three lights. These windows have sash frames, with some glazing bars still intact, and a panelled apron below. The bay on the second floor includes a shallow frieze and cornice that extend onto the projecting side strips. The ground floor features a Victorian shop front with a framed design, including panelled pilasters, brackets with caps above, and a dentil cornice.
