Description
62 Union Street is a building dating from around 1840. It is three storeys high and has a stucco facade, which is flanked by pilasters. The building features caps above a plain parapet, a moulded cornice, and a plain frieze. There are two windows on the upper floors, with the second-floor windows positioned directly below the frieze. These windows are recessed, have sash frames with intact glazing bars, and are surrounded by plain stucco with block sills supported by consoles. The first floor has a centrally located flat-fronted bow window, similar to those found on Nos 61 and 61A, but with intact glazing bars. The ground floor has a late Victorian or Edwardian shop front. The Royal Victoria Arcade and Nos 58 to 62 form a group of buildings.
