Description

This early 19th century building, originally a post office, is located on Union Street and comprises numbers 32 and 33, along with number 34. The building is stuccoed and has seven windows in total. The northern section, number 32, is an extension to the post office, which likely operated as a separate building previously. This section features two windows, one slightly recessed, and includes a cornice and a small pediment at the centre of the parapet. The first floor has a flattened bow window with three lights, separated by pilasters and topped with a cornice. The ground floor is rusticated. The remainder of the building, encompassing the original post office and number 34, has a parapet and pilasters flanking each building from the first to the second floor. There are two flattened bow windows, each with three lights separated by pilasters and topped with a cornice. Between these bow windows on the first floor, two sash windows with architrave surrounds and cornices on consoles are present. Glazing bars are intact above the ground floor, which has been modernised. The building forms a group with numbers 30 to 39B.
