Description
The K1 Telephone Kiosk, located outside number 5 on High Street in Bembridge, is a telephone kiosk designed in 1921. It features three sides made of concrete, with two sides having metal windows, while the fourth side has a wooden door. The concrete frame includes a moulded cornice and a tented canopy, topped with a metal finial and four metal plaques that display the word 'Telephone'. The kiosk has a plinth and two eight-paned metal-framed sashes with perspex panes. The wooden door also has eight panes and is fitted with leather hinges. The telephone apparatus inside is modern. This kiosk is one of the few surviving examples, with the others located in Hull.
