Description

Waterloo Cottage is a cottage dating to 1784, as indicated by a date plaque on the front elevation, bearing the initials J K M. It is built of Isle of Wight coursed stone rubble with a renewed tiled roof and brick end chimney stacks. The cottage is a two-bay house with an original penticed outshut at the rear. It has two storeys and attics, with two windows. Modern triple-glazed wooden casements have been fitted to the ground and first floors, and a central doorcase features a flat wooden hood supported by brackets, sheltering a six-panelled door, with the top two panels glazed—this is likely a 20th-century addition.
