BONCHURCH VILLAGE ROAD (south side) Herriot House and Edgemount

(Formerly listed as Vane Cottage and Glen Avon)

GV II Dated 1870 pair of coursed rubble, two storeys with yellow brick dressings. Gable end slate roof with brick saddlestones. Symmetrical fenestration, five windows, stone mullioned casements, the centre one transomed on first floor with stepped drip above in stone finialed gable. Weathered sill course. Gabled porches each end of front against single storey short lobby wings. Included for group interest.

Herriot House, Edgemount, The Old Smugglers Cottage, The Bobbin, Nightingales and Lodge to Compton Undermount form a group.
