Description
Greenhill and Homelfigi is a pair of houses built in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The houses are constructed of rubble, featuring a slate-hung front that begins about one metre above ground level, with colourwashed and rendered sides, and an asbestos slate roof topped with gable stacks.
The layout is a double depth plan, with an entrance at the front of the left cottage and another entrance in the right gable end of the right cottage. The left cottage has a passage along the party wall, created by a partition, which provides access to a rear room.
Both houses are two storeys high and have two windows, each featuring 2-light casements with four panes. The upper windows are smaller and positioned slightly off-centre to the left. There is a 20th-century glazed and gabled porch with half-glazed inner and outer doors. The slate-hanging on the front has a decorative string made from two courses of scalloped and diamond-cut slates. Attached to the right is a brick lean-to porch that includes a door with a glazed panel and a two-pane light on the side.
On the left side of the building, there is a 2-light casement window on both the ground and first floors. The rear outshut features similar casement windows and a door with a glazed panel, with the ground floor openings having segmental heads. The interior is not accessible for viewing. This pair of houses was originally part of the Camplehay Estate in Lamerton Civil Parish.
