Description
The Bobbin is a building dating from around 1850, located on Bonchurch Village Road. It is two storeys high and constructed of coursed rubble with light red brick dressings. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, featuring flat eaves and a shallow string course. The building has two windows, one of which is a canted bay with casement lights. The ground floor includes a shop front with paired large paned glazing bar windows flanking a door, along with a similar window to the right. The Bobbin is included in the listing for its group interest, as it is part of a collection of buildings that includes Herriot House, Edgemount, The Old Smugglers Cottage, Nightingales, and the Lodge to Compton Undermount.
