Description

The retaining wall below the south front of Peacock Vane is a substantial structure built to support the terrace on which the house stands. It is constructed from stone rubble and features two rough voussoir segmental arches at the base, along with a small pointed opening on the left side. These arches may have originally served as outlets for water that fed into a lower pond, which is now covered with grass.
