Description
Combewood Peacock Vane is a large three-storey villa built around 1830-1840, designed in the typical Regency style and situated in spacious grounds. The building features a hipped slate roof with flat eaves supported by brackets. The ground floor has horizontal grooving and a plat band. The west front includes a full-height bow with three windows and a tripartite window to the left. The second floor has glazing bar sashes, while the ground and first floors are fitted with French casements. A two-storey verandah with a tent roof showcases ornate cast iron details. The south entrance front has four windows, one of which is blind, and features a broad shallow break on the right side with a first-floor tripartite window that has a tent hood supported by similar brackets as the verandah. The entrance includes a tripartite doorway flanked by panelled pilasters. Additionally, there is a two-storey servants' wing and an arcaded conservatory with pilasters.
