Description

The Church of St Boniface is a Grade II listed building located on Bonchurch Shute. It was designed by architect B Ferrey and constructed between 1847 and 1848. This simple yet sizable church is built in a thin Norman style using ashlar stone. It features transepts and a short aisleless nave, along with a chancel that includes a vestry and a side porch on the north side. The church has a bellcot but does not have a tower, and it is supported by stone rubble corner buttresses. The stained glass windows are primarily by Wailes, with two saints in the south transept designed by Henry Holiday in collaboration with Swinburne in 1878.
