Description

Nightingales is a building dating from around 1850 to 1860, located on the south side of Bonchurch Village Road. It is two storeys tall and is taller than the nearby building known as The Bobbin. The structure is made of stone rubble with painted brick dressings. On the first floor, there are two windows, one of which is a canted bay. The shop front features a three-light thin mullioned window and a fascia, with a sash window to the left. This building is included in the listing for its group interest, as it is part of a collection that also includes Herriot House, Edgemount, The Old Smugglers Cottage, The Bobbin, and the Lodge to Compton Undermount.
