Description

Durtshot is a cottage located on Wicken Hill Lane in Brighstone, dating back to 1671. It is constructed from Isle of Wight stone rubble and features a thatched roof with a brick chimneystack. The cottage has two storeys and includes three mullioned casement windows. There is a porch with a gable and kneelers, along with a two-centred arched door. A 20th-century wing has been added to the structure. Inside, the beams have 3-inch chamfers, and there is some 17th-century panelling that has been brought in.
