Description
Bagwich is a house dating from the early to mid 17th century, constructed from Isle of Wight stone rubble with brick dressings. It features a tiled roof made of alternating courses of plain and scalloped tiles, and has an off-central brick chimneystack. The front of the house includes three 17th-century three-light mullioned windows with hood moulds. There is a two-storey gabled porch from the 17th century, which is tile hung on the first floor and made of thin bricks on the ground floor, featuring a round-headed arch and two small round-headed arches on the sides. A late 18th-century flush panelled door is present. There is a modern extension on the right side that is not of special interest. The rear elevation has some 17th-century mullioned windows and a deep plinth. Inside, the house has square panelled framing. Bagwich is noted as one of the original Domesday manors.
