Description

Brooke Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage located in Clatterford Shute, Carisbrooke. It is constructed of red brick with grey headers, and the south-east and north-west sides are slate-hung. The cottage has a gable-end slate roof. The front of the cottage is largely obscured by climbing plants and features two sash windows with glazing bars, set in moulded flush wood frames with block sills, and segmental brick arches at ground floor level. The central recessed door consists of four fielded panels and is set within a simple wood doorcase. A trellis porch with a flat, leaded roof is present. A brick wing extends to the rear, with a lower corrugated iron gable end roof and slate cladding.
