Description
Primrose Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage located on Thornham High Street. It is constructed of red brick and features a red pantiled roof. The cottage is two stories high and has three bays, with two ground floor and three first floor sash windows that have glazing bars, all set in white painted reveals with brick flat arched heads. The central entrance consists of a six-panel raised and fielded door, framed by an architrave with three panel raised and fielded reveals, and fluted pilasters that support a dentil and triglyph frieze, topped with a cornice and flat parapet. There is an arched alleyway entrance on the east side, framed with a wooden architrave. The cottage also has a flat wooden eaves cornice, two coped brick parapets, and end stacks, along with an outshut roof at the rear. The west gable return features "R H" purlin irons.
