Description

Gun Cottage is a late 18th-century building located on the north side of High Street in Carisbrooke. It is two storeys high, constructed with grey headers and red brick dressings. The gable end features a slate roof and a brick eaves cornice. The cottage has four windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor, all of which are recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars, block sills, and flat brick arches. A red brick band runs between the storeys. The central door is recessed and consists of two large fielded panels within a moulded wood frame. Above the door is an open dentil pediment with a panelled soffit supported by brackets.
