Description

These are two 18th-century cottages, possibly originally a single building, located on the north side of High Street in Carisbrooke. The cottages are constructed of rubble and brick, partially rendered, with the rear of red brick. They have gable-end slate roofs. Number 66 has one window, while number 68 has two. Both have three-light casement windows; number 66 has a two-light casement window on the first floor. Number 66 features a plain 19th-century cottage door, while number 68 has a recessed 19th-century door of four fielded panels, with two glazed panels, set within a plain wood architrave with a bevelled edge. Number 66 has a slate hood supported on brackets; number 68 has a corrugated hood, rendered and supported on posts.
