Description

The Parish Church of St Mary, located on the north side of High Street in Carisbrooke, is primarily a 12th-century building featuring a nave and a south aisle. It has a Perpendicular-style west tower with five stages and a taller stair turret, along with buttresses that encroach on the nave. The church boasts a well-preserved kingpost roof. The chancel was demolished in 1570, and the east end and window openings have been altered, primarily dating from the 14th and 15th centuries. Photographs of the church are available in the National Monuments Record.
