Description
Harewood Lodge is an early 19th-century building located on Clatterford Road in Carisbrooke. It is two storeys high, featuring a stucco front with vermiculated quoins and banded rustication on the ground floor. The roof is hipped and sheathed in lead, with projecting eaves supported by heavy brackets.
On the first floor, there are three recessed sash windows with glazing bars, block sills, Venetian shutters, and fretted blind cases. The ground floor boasts a large full-length bow window set in a curved bay, which also has sash windows with glazing bars and a plain strip above the block sill. A serpentine roofed verandah supported by cast iron columns with palm leaf capitals extends from the front.
Flanking the main block are single-storey wings, each with two windows. These wings are constructed of stone rubble and feature a stucco parapet and cornice, enhanced by stucco Doric pilasters. The windows in the wings are recessed, round-headed, and have glazing bars, with moulded stucco surrounds and keystones. The entrance is located at the side of the building.
