Description

Castle Cloud Cottages, located at 17 and 19 Clatterford Shute in Carisbrooke, date from the 18th century, with possible elements from the 17th century. Originally built as three cottages, the structure is two storeys high with a thatched roof that slopes down to one storey at the rear. The windows feature eyebrows above them. The exterior is made of stone rubble and red brick, which is painted, while the rear of No 17 is entirely constructed of stone rubble with red brick window dressings. Each cottage has three windows, which are three-light wood frame casements with glazing bars, although there are two modern metal windows. The doors are plain cottage-style.
