Description

Castle Cottage is an early 19th-century house located on Castle Lane in Carisbrooke. The house is constructed of painted brick, arranged over two storeys. The north front is characterised by three-sided bays that extend upwards as octagonal turrets. The roof is covered with rippled slate and features projecting eaves. The north front has two sash windows on the front of each bay, with glazing bars set within moulded flush wooden frames and block sills. A central doorway, sheltered by a lean-to roof, projects slightly, aligning with the front faces of the side bays. A conservatory is attached to the west front. The south front has casement windows on the ground floor, with segmental heads, and two windows on the first floor mirroring those on the north front.
