Description

This is a lamp post located approximately 2 metres west of number 57 on Old London Road in Patcham, Brighton. It dates from the late 19th century or early 20th century and is made of cast iron and another metal. The lamp post features a cylindrical base with a lockable compartment marked "BLEECO." It has a fluted, tapering shaft that is topped by a basket capital. Just below the annulet, there is a maintenance yoke. Above, a swan-necked, tubular bracket is supported by a metal fillet shaped like a tendril, and it has a shallow dish reflector.
