Description
This small hay barn, located approximately 10 meters to the west of The White Hart Public House, dates from the late 17th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The barn is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, with parts painted, and features a roof that is partly covered with old tiles and partly with clay pantiles, forming a gabled structure.
The barn has a rectangular plan consisting of four bays, with a small lean-to extension at the rear. The roof framing is exposed on the gable ends. The east gable end includes three small 20th-century windows and a door that provide access to toilet facilities serving The White Hart Public House. At the rear, there are 20th-century garage doors, where the brickwork remains unpainted.
Inside, there is a 20th-century block partition in the first bay that contains toilets. The roof features a queen post design with clasped purlins and long wind braces. This barn is included for its group value with the nearby public house.
