Description
This is a barn located to the rear (southeast) of the Holly Bush Public House, dated 1844. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond and features a Welsh slate roof, with some areas of brick patching and repairs. The main elevation consists of three bays and has a first floor with circular windows, which have stone surrounds and flat sills, along with breathers arranged in an X pattern between them. There are three doorways with segmental heads, stone hinge and latch pads, and planked doors fitted with strap hinges. A later doorway on the extreme right includes a rectangular overlight. The end walls have deeply overhanging verges, with groups of breathers arranged in X and diamond patterns. The gable wall facing the street displays a date-shield from 1844 and has two 20th-century windows at ground level. The rear of the barn features two tiers of breathers in diamond and X patterns, with a first-floor taking-in door concealed behind a corrugated iron sheet. There are two doorways similar to those at the front and a smaller opening to the left. The roof is a simple king post and strut design. This barn is part of an attractive group with the Holly Bush Public House and a granary.
